On November 28, Ambassador Irakli Khutsurauli held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Finland, Jussi Halla-aho. The sides discussed topics of bilateral relations, including intensification of inter-parliamentary cooperation.

Special attention was paid to importance of recognition of the European perspective for Georgia and progress on implementation of the 12 priorities endorsed by the European Council, as well as to the importance of support the Parliament of Finland in this process.  

The sides also discussed Russian military aggression against Ukraine, tense security situation in the region and importance of Euro-Atlantic aspirations of both countries in this regards. Ambassador briefed Mr. Halla-aho on Georgia’s security challenges, processes in the South Caucasus, as well as on steps taken to keep stability and peace in the region.

Sides expressed readiness to continue frequent communication in the framework of the future visits and deepen existing amicable relations.
