Welcome to the web-portal of the Embassy of Georgia to the Republic of Finland. 

It is a great honor to represent Georgia in the Republic of Finland - the country Georgia enjoys very close and truly fraternal relationship.

I hope our web page will help you to acquire information about the bilateral relations between Georgia and the Republic of Finland, important events taking place in Georgia, Georgia`s foreign policy, economy, culture and tourism. Furthermore, the web-page will provide information on consular services for Georgian citizens and foreigners who wish to travel to Georgia alike.

It has to be noted that Diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Finland were established on July 8, 1992 and diplomatic mission of Georgia to the Republic of Finland was opened in 2011. Nowadays, Georgia and the Republic of Finland enjoy close cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Finland openly supports Georgia`s territorial integrity and sovereignty in internationally recognized borders, as well as, Georgia`s European integration process. The friendship between Georgia and the Republic of Finland is based on shared values historically common for small nations, namely - fight for independence and sovereignty.

Georgia is a valuable and reliable partner to Finland. On many occasions, our country’s significant contribution at the international arena and on the bilateral level proved to be very important and timely.  Cooperation between the executive and legislative branches of the government is strong and high-level exchanges are frequent that demonstrate the existing amicable relations that are based on mutual trust and friendship.  

I am happy to note that our bilateral economic cooperation is showing a dynamic growth during the recent period, we attach high importance to the advancement of the tourism sector, moreover, Georgian wine is becoming a well-established brand on the Finnish market. At the same time, I would like to stress that my colleagues and I will spare no efforts to achieve tangible results and fully exploit the existing vast potential in the field of economic and trade relations.

I would like to take this opportunity to greet the representatives of the Georgian diaspora living in Finland, who profoundly serve and succeed in their professions for the benefit of both countries. On behalf of the Embassy, I extend our full support.

I would like to assure you that we shall embrace every initiative promoting Georgian culture, traditions, and values and are open for more intensive cooperation.
